Today I received encouragement from a co-worker. She smiled and said "It might work!" Then I checked this blog and found encouragement from two strangers. They may be strangers but they are kindred spirits because they are concerned about the health of our USPS too.
The biggest complaint I have heard is that this sounds like a chain letter. Well it sounds like one because it is...however, only chain letters that require you to send something of monetary value to the sender or promises something are illegal. This letter will only provide a monetary gain to a third party, the USPS, and that is fully disclosed.
See http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt075.shtm
for more info.
The main point is to use letter writing as a way to save the USPS which will also improve your life and the lives of the people that receive your letters.
Thank you for your responses and tips!
